The End of the Year

I remember at the beginning of the school year I was well past overwhelmed with choir, dance, and things that were coming up, like the musical. Now at the end of the school year, they’re all done; not only will I miss singing and dancing multiple times a week, I’ll hardly see the friends I met during them.

I’ve looked forward to going to choir at least once a week ever since grade 10, and its grown on me – thus why I’ve auditioned for more choirs over the years. I had too many favourites about choir, the friends, the stories Shmi told us that became inside jokes, the songs where we did little actions in the background during practice, and last but not least, singing. During some songs I could truly let out me emotions, and through others I’d have a good laugh. I haven’t been singing much lately, but today since I’m home alone I have been, and I realized just how much I miss getting up early 3 times a week to sing.

As for dance, I only took hip-hop in grades 10 and 12, (and production in grade 12 too), but this year I decided to take competitive hip-hop, normal hip-hop, lyrical, and jazz. Yep, it was a lot to take in, but once I got in the swing of things, I loved it. I’ve never had a lot of friends in dance, but the ones I met or got closer with this year made it all worthwhile, and so thank you, for making my last year here the best one yet. 🙂 It’s always hard when someone you met this year says ‘see you next year’, but to which you have to reply with ‘actually .. you won’t see me next year’. ♥

Yeah, my grades weren’t the greatest this year, but I still got into multiple colleges, and I’ll even be a housemate of a fellow dancer friend, so hopefully we can find a dance studio that’s just as good as Center Stage next year in Hamilton 🙂

So to all my friends who were part of these groups, my classes, and even those friends who weren’t, thank you so so so much for the greatest year I’ve had in a long time, I truly don’t know where I would be if it hadn’t been for all of you. ♥
I guess it’s your fault too that I currently have a pile of wet kleenexes beside me. 😛
But none the less, I love you all 🙂

  1. Aweeee 😦 sadface! you’re making me tear up just reading this!

  2. Goodbyes are hard… me, I had to make a lot of them when I moved to BC. Ultimately, if you follow your heart and do the things you’re really passionate about, you’ll find yourself surrounded by like-minded people who will both challenge and support you. And yes, you will have to say goodbye to many of them at some point, but you will have changed them and been changed by them, so they’ll always be a part of your life.
